12A fitted with Extractors, straight through exhaust (no cat or thermal reactor)
top speed i have had it to, 196 Kph with the windows down and 201 Kph with the windows up.
I used my Aviation GPS to get more accurate readings. but the speedo was pretty close.

to avoid the math above, 201kph = roughly 125mph.

I've had my 7 up to 115mph, that was about all she had in her, but I'll try again once I have a good exhaust on it, not this stupid cat.

about 13k I hate to add up the infinate stack of receipts, but when I was pulling 16 psi at 6,000 rpm in 5th and it was pegged, and still pulling hard, i took it up to about 7000 rpm, so Id say about 155, funny thing was it wanted more, but I was well um a little scared

ooops mines not a 12A LOL Well anyways

Not fast enuff judging by all of the TII questions...I had my big RP streetport 12A pegged on the speedo....guessing something just North of 130 mph....tall tires like the 225/50/15s in back help if you've got the high rpm HP to take advantage of them...

I calculated my speed at around 111 or 114 at one point (can't remember which it was). The car was stock minus AC, with completely clogged cats, and I had the windows down and the sunroof off. It was still accelerating, very slowly.

140+ while living in Germany. Had a large street port with Weber 48IDA's, Rotary Engineering header, full dual exhaust system and all the typical goodies. Might of had a little more, except for the large turbo style wing that was acting like an air brake.

132 mph, and it felt like I could've squeaked a few more out of it.

Many years back I was clocked at 156 going down a sizeable hill, but have been assured that with my tire size/gear ratio the radar gun must've been miscalibrated.

Best mod is a frt air dam for high speed runs... I've had a difference of about 5mph top end speed just by this. From 140hp+ to about 135 without the frt airdam, with a large streetported 12a with the works...about 5 years ago, I would not try that now

Obviously, this question is difficult to answer... Most people will depend on their speedo, but those things tend to display speeds about 5 to 10% higher then real.
But since the official(by Mazda) top speed of the 12A models is about 195kph/ 121mph, I doubt any not-modified cars would reach more (unless going downhill ) That's of course REAL speed, not speedo.
Personally, my car with RB exhaust and Mikuni carb, went to 215kph/134mph on the speedo (legal, cause on German Autobahn) and was willing to do more. But traffic was getting to heavy, and the speedo only goes to 215 kph anyway. Now, ho much that really is, I cannot judge.

Bart, next time take note of the RPM , gear ratio's and a calculator give a much better indication

My freind had a 130mph 'old' mini till we pointed out it could only pull a real 113mph due to the rev limiter.

don't forget manufacturers only have to check accuracy up to 70mph ... some speedo are way way worse than +10% by the time they reach 100mph

Accuracy of the stock speedo...

There's one of those lovely radar boxes that's been moving its way down US 1 around my house. I took flybys at 45, 60, and 80 noticing that each time, the radar indicated my actual reading on the speedometer. I then triple checked that there were no cops around in addition to no traffic and did a 110mph flyby...

My speedometer? It read 110 exactly, same as the radar indicated.

I'm not sure if I buy the whole "all stock speedos are off" thing anymore.

well i was dooin 115 down some big sweeping corners outside of flagstaff.... hehe and on some straight aways between flagstaff and phoenix ,, i nearly topped out my speedo at 135.. hehe and that was with a restrictive muffler ..... now with my magna flow i could prolly get alil more out of it hehe...... and becuase of my goofy airdam it wasnt vibrating or nuttin was sucked to the road..... as opposed to my gsl which flet like it was gonna take off after 100+

my two cents

was drivin back with a friend from the movies and had a guy fly by in an accord doin around 100+ mph (he FLEW past me)...
so i figure why not? i downshift and floor it and brought it up to around 115, until i saw police lights dart out of no where to catch the accord (which was way ahead of me by now).

it felt like it could do more... i'll have to find a chance to test that theory out!

I hit 125 a fiew seconds after shifting 5th gear, with the RPM's still climbing pritty quick.

That's about the poblem. Driveline parts aren't 1982. I was told... In other words: I have no clue about the correct ratio's. Also the fact that my tires are 225/50/15 opposed to the stock 185/60/13 makes them not only wider but also higher. This would mean I'd go faster then the speedo is saying. So maybe that in combination with the speedo reading a bit to high, might make up for eachother.
Then again, what do I care. If it was 200kph or 220kph, it was still fast enough. And I did some cool 250kph in an FD.
In Belgium I try to respect the limits as much as possible. Fine's are so damn expensive, I just don't take the risk. Don't want to loose the license...
