POST *****!!! (kidding)

Yeah, I took grade 11 phisics. You have to learn alot about friction, gravity, force, you know, all that great stuff. Actually, its a lot of fun. One of my favorite classes.

Anyway, a stock RX-7 should be able to reach 200 km/h pretty easily. It have a faily low drag coefficient. Lower than a lot of cars of the 80's and early 90's.

i'm guessing that purolator.. err uh.. i mean cheap air filter i got is restricting my flow.. i set the timing to stock specs and got the same result.. about 108 mph.. guess i'll hack up that spare air cleaner i got and put a k&n in it.. i need a money tree..

Scientifically speaking, isn't the air more dense in South Carolina? Maybe that is all that's holding you back?

I wouldn't put too much faith in the K&N. I could be wrong, but I don't see more than a 5mph top speed increase at the most just from switching out air filters. S.C. doesn't have emission restrictions so I would look into freeing up the exhaust (if you haven't already) before I did anything else...

5 mph from an air filter? Dream on. You'll need at least another 15 hp to see a 5 mph increase at top speed.

According to some of the responses here, a lot of you are not only breaking speed limits, but the laws of physics as well.

k well im not trying to brag or say anything but why are all your cars going so slow. i was racing my friends one in his accord and one in his mustang and we got to 120, when the accord topped out or hit the govenor, and then me and the stang kept going and my speedo sticks at 100 and then i looked down and it kicked in and we were going 130 and we went for a little longer when i decided i was done getting owned so i let off. since the stang only goes up to 85 on the speedo he wasnt sure what we got up to but mine is a 12a with exhaust thats it and i was still goin and was about 5g or 6g in 5th so whats going on

I'm not real sure. I usually cruise I-81 at 80mph. There are some stretches that, if the road's clear, I'll lay into from time to time. I drop to 4th, go to 6k which is 100-105mph, then change to 5th. In like another mile or so I've only gotten up to like 115-120 (since I fixed my timing). But that's it. It would take many, many more miles of just keeping the hammer down to get anymore. Not sure if I would ever get 130 or not. I'm sure down a long hill I probably could....
