Talking Took the plunge-bought one!

So after arranging for a place to store a car until it's finished (no rush...3 bay garage, one bay used) I am finally buying an FB. I was guided to one for $150. The body looks to be in fairly good shape, the engine not so much. It has low compression, so it needs rebuilt. He had planned on dropping a 302 into it. I pick it up sometime next week! I'm so excited!!!!~!

/\ The only pics i have of it right now
Any ideas on the model so i can price some parts?

Very cool! My guess would that it is either an S model or GS; 1981-83 model. A photo of the dashboard would tell. Those don't look like power mirrors, so I'd say it is a 1981 S-model with a GS-model wheel upgrade.

btw, my '81 GS model doesn't have a sunroof.

Nice car. looks like it's got some potential. Have fun with it.

No lock on the gas door rules out 81 or 82. It looks like the drivers mirror is an aftermarket replacement. Series three seats (easy swap, so you really can't go on that alone) and the vents in the front lower cowl tells me 84 or 85.

no, he wanted to do a 302 swap. 12a all the way!
Thanks for all the help, I am really looking forward to getting it and starting to work on it, i hope to have it driveable by may. All models except the GSL-SE had the 12a and equal power ratings, correct? just different features?

also, he said
Carswell Rotary Connection last year and he told me the engine has 50 55 55 compression out of a recommended 130psi min.
complete rebuild i've read/been told. do any of you think the 83-85 12a rebuild kit from atkins rotary would do the trick?
