Took the 79 to the track.

12A streetport with 48 IDA gsl rear end and 185/60-13 tires. I just want to know if this is a good time. With this one I did have a slipping clutch problem so they could have been a little better.

2.314 60ft
6.309 330ft
9.643 1/8 et
73.53 1/8 mph
15.097 1/4 et
87.20 1/4 mph

It was my fastest one the others where far worse.

Nice job. What RPM range did you find worked the best off the line?

Oh yeah, were the tires street tires? Slicks? DR?

Nice time, though the MPH seems a bit slow.

Nope street tires and I lauched about 3 or so. And I didnt miss 3rd but I think alot of it has to do with the clutch that started slipping bad when i shifted into 3rd. I thought I did very well considering what all the other imports were running.

yeah.you did good.60 ft was good.Is this your first time to the track?
I was just trying to figure out why MPH was soo low.Cuz once you fix problem(clutch) your gonna have some nice times. I did 15.526@90.01 with catback exhuast, air pump removal,AC removal, electric fan, alum dual belt alt pulley, weight reduction,185/60/13 bridgestone RE900. And I'm planning to get 14.9 next month when I get my headers. so I know your car has some better potential in it.

I cant believe you guys think this is slow. Someone needs to tell me what you guys do to make your stock cars that fast. When they were brand new they were doing 17-18 sec 1/4's. The 12A's anyway. A brand new GSL-SE was barely getting a 16 sec 1/4. My car also had its full interior, full size spare and all necessary tools, and 3/4 tank of gas. Maybe it is slow but it was 2 seconds faster than most other imports that were there.

Well you would probaly have better times if you had a 1/4 tank of gas and take your full size spare tire and just leave your tools at home and then think about maybe taking some of the sound damping out of your car.....

To take out the sound damping...that is too much work from what I read. Also it is to loud now I cant imagine what it would be like without it. But next time I will leave all the extras at home and go there with less gas.

The 1/4 time is good... it's the MPH from your slipping clutch that sucks. Stock 12A IIRC had a trap of 80-85 MPH but a 1/4 in the low 17's. So I'd expect 93+ MPH at 15.1.
