Tons of white smoke help plez

My car always spat a bit of white smoke on start up but never too much. The other day i started up my car and it spat out a tone of whit somke and wont stop. to be fair i havent kept it runig for long enough to get the car warmed up but it dosnt seem to be stoping. The day before i just changed the oil and filter but i went for a drive later that day and it didnt smoke then. any advice would be gratley apreciated thnx

maybe a leaking apex seal would be my guess, if you changed the oil maybe some pressure increased and killed it. dunno though, just my thoughts.

real thick white smoke? that's most likely a coolant seal, might be time for a rebuild..

another thought: dont put in 8 litres of oil... it gets sucked up the stock PCV system and smokes like a sonuvabitch. i figured that a dry rotary needed a little more than stock fill and just dropped in 8L (around 2 gallons btw) and sure enough, smoke like crazy, sometimes and not others... confused the **** outta me until i checked the oil and it was RIGHT UP to the top of the dipstick...
oops.

it could be from too much oil. Mines does that the next day after the oil change, it dosnt do it right after.

Is it fuel-injected or carb? If it's injected, check the water thermo sensor and connector...

*sigh* loooks like this thread might come in handy for you. a leaking coolant seal does not automatically = a rebuild. you can get around it very well by following the procedures here:

Thnx for all the info guys i checked the oil dipstick and it was about 1 and 1/2 cm over the full line so hopefully thats problem and i dont have to rebuild. thnx again for all the help.
