Tires, Will these fit?

I know there are a couple threads about tire sizes for the GSL-SE but it was more of a vague "Oh this will work and so will this... but only if this...." I wanted to be a little bit more specific because I don't want to buy new tires for my new rims and have it turn out incorrect. I've been comparing tire sizes with those that are already on cars with what I am kind of looking for, and so I want to know if the final measurements will work with my setup.

So here are the specifics:
-Car-
1979 GS
GSL-SE Suspension swapped

-Rim-
4x114.3
16" x 7"
+25 Offset

-Suspension-
Tokico Blues
RB Springs

-Tire-
215/50R16

I thought 215mm seemed like a good measurement with a 7" width rim. I was also kind of thinking of having about 95mm in visible height, with an extra 20mm that isn't visible, so a total of about 115mm in height. Please let me know if this is okay for my current setup and if it will clear the fenders and the springs. Thanks

Okay, so I still didn't get some tires for my rims. I was reconsidering the tire size I stated before with some 205/50R16 since it seems like that is the main size that most GSL-SE owners go with when it comes to the front wheels, I like to have all 4 wheels to have the same size tires so the rears will also be 205/50R16. Any opinions with tire sizes?

When I went to test fit the rim on the actual car, it fits... but the edge seems extremely close to the springs . I then realized that people on this forum repeat the information that the SA offset (+25) is different from the GSL-SE offset (+35) so I'm confused in which offset I should be going with since I am using something from both worlds. I was considering getting a 10mm spacer so that the offset is +35 like it should be, but I'm worried that if I use a spacer that the outer edge of the tire will rub against the fender... or am I wrong?

a 7 inch wide wheel with a 4 inch backspace will fit a 225 tire front and rear no problems.

Thanks for the replies guys... I thought no one would have any input.

So, in conclusion I can run my rims the way they are (+25offset and a 7" width) with 225/50R16 tires on all 4 with no spacers and will have no rubbing at all? Once I get approval on this, TIRES WILL BE ON THE WAY!!

I wouldn't exceed the 205's in the front. The wider in the front will make the wondersteer even worse. I went from a 205/60r14 to a 195/60r14 on front on mine and man it was night and day!

Waaaay too big for the front, but okay for the back. Problem is mixing the tires correctly to avoid oversteer issues.

205-60-13 on all corners for me. No rubbing, and you can go to 215 or 225 rears with no problems from what I hear.

As far as 14" rims, I will see if I can dig up a site to help you.

I had 205/50 on my 16 x 7.5 with +35 offset rims on my SE with stock springs - no issues
Switched to Eibach pro kit or whatever the set is called - rubbing on springs up front

Installed coilover setup up front - no more rubbing

Make sure the RB springs don't flare out more than stock & you should be ok

whats the issue with these tires on the front? rubs? and if so where does it rub? or does it hit the inner fender well?

I'm going to order a whole set of 205/50R16. I hope this works.

Thanks for everyone's input.
