Tires for the track (drag racing)

Ok I want to get my car ready and I cant get a hold of 15in Mustang rims yet..and my time and cash is running low,

Im putting a GSLSE front suspenion on my car and running FC Enkie spares.

How does it sound to run the 15in spares up front and 13in in the rear either runnign a drag radial or 205/60/13 or 215/50/13

IF* I dont get my 15in wheels,do you think this set up will screw me up?

You can get Et Drag's in 24.5 * 13 in either 7 or 8 inches wide. this would hook the best and probably be almost as easy on the drive train due to the tall soft sidewalls to absorb some of the shock.
Seen more stock mustangs break axles on stiff walled drag radials than a nice tall soft slick. Not to mention the 60' would be quite a bit better.

I forgot to say that if I did run 13s..It would be on the stock 5.5x13 in rim.I think the 7 wil be ok..I think the 8s is pusing it.

I was also concerned running 15s in the front, and 13s in the rear,Would this mess up my launch or driving?

sorrow I'm not putting nearly as much power as you are...but down here everybody is running Toyos ra1 and I highly recommend them. They are multipurpose, you can drive to the track and race. Once heated the tires are grippy. I'm using 205/50/15s now, eventhough the sidewall is short they are great for awesome launches. They are not as grippy as the dragradials but you can spin them while launching and save the drivetrain, at the same time you spin em they will be hooking up progressively. I'm launching at about 7k or more to give u an idea...

BTW you can get them in any size including 13"

I just need a new clutch now...

use the 24.5x 7x13s.... you wont have any traction problems and the tall sidewall will absorb some of the drivetrain shock!!!=less broken trannys , rear ends and axles!!p/s get some early mazda 626 steel wheels and get them stretched to 8" wide ....its $60.00 per wheel and works good....remember the stock wheel is only 5" wide.... a 7" slick will fit BUT the patch gets round if the wheel is smaller than the slick!!you will only be using the center of the slick!!!also dont waste your money on drag radials 205 is the biggest size you can fit, way too small....

If you can't find any wider rims, the slicks will still work better than drag radials even in the stinny rims.
Also Diamond Racing Wheels can whip up a couple stell rims pretty cheap in any size you want.

What year 626?

I was even thinking of running the Rustang 10 hole wheels or the 5 star pony wheels,

I dont see **** for prices on the Diamond wheels, they look bulky. How much do they run.?
