this project i gonna cost alot in the long run, and i dont mean to offend you, but i could see this project being aborted, and the car being parted out in the future. imho

currently ive blown the motor in my MKII supra, i have no other car, no job, and im a full time engineering student.

so im slowly working mommy up to buying me a 2jz-gtte (280->300HP 3.0l straight six), supplementing the project with cash from my future summer jobs, i expect to be done sometime next summer (for graduation, w00t!)...

no expenses baby!

 

Thats what this car is already, a unfinished project that someone didn't take the time to finish... And quiet honestly I feel that I am WAY better at actually finishing stuff like this... Remember I have the knowledge to do everything on this car easily by myself (I am a mechanic). I love RX7's, and I sure as hell don't plan on parting this thing out. Im not stupid, I realize I will not get anywhere near what this car is worth if I try and sell it.

But honestly how often do you see a widebody first generation RX7 in your town? They are so rare, and easily my favourite car. I don't plan on dropping this project until I drop and die myself...

Sure its a big project, but its nothing I haven't done before, interior, motor, tranny, suspension swap, exhaust swap, to be honest I already have alot done. The biggest thing is gonna be saving up the cash flow for the rims and engine. But in 3-4 months time I will be making MORE then enough to buy those in no time.

I have NEVER, NEVER met anyone who was as addicted to cars (especially rotary) as me. I goto school all day working on vehicles, I come home go on this forum and go work on my car. My life revolves around my cars!

 

I bought my car for $500 In 1997. Still aint finished

 

They are never finished. I just look at them as stages. Finish one and enjoy it for a day or two, then start on the next one. My problem right now is I have a big learning curve before I start Phase III. This one I can't learn as I go, to easy to make expensive mistakes.

I started with a $600 car with the engine in boxes. I have spent nearly 10 times that and less than $200 was paid for outside labor. Just parts and parts and more parts. I've lost count how many other cars donated parts for my widebody.

It will be more than well worth it if I can hit 300 hp in the next phase.

 

Rear will be 17x12 with 5 1/2" backspacing

Front: use the Original backspacing and just measure how many more inches you can add to the new wheel fender.
