time to rebuild

well i had found an 82 rx7 that had been siting for a few years (three) but it ran ...all it really needed besides a tune up and fresh fluids was some paint and a starter....got it home changed out the bad starter and all the fluids ...and got it to fire up i was very happy to hear it run lol ...but since i still had some work to do to it i have left it in the garage and well three days after having it runing i went out to start it and move it outta the garage so i could clean up a bit ...the car started the died on me so i went to restart it and nothing .....pulled the plugs thinking i had flooded it and tried to turn the motor with the key still nothing so i tried by hand and well the damn motor has locked up ...and for the life of me i couldnt figure it out tell today ...went out to drain all the fluids so i could pull the motor next week and yes i had oil in the motor ...but the oil filter was dry .....
so baiscly some how the oil pump has faild or somthing is cloged ...so the motor has locked.....well sinc ei m gona have to pull it to rebuild im gona go ahead and take it down to the local rotary nut and let him do an agressive street port ....and rebuild

Unless the oil filter had a check valve in the bottom of it the oil would drain right back out of it after shut off. If it was bone dry inside, meaning no evidence of oil at all in it then you definietley had a oiling problem.

yea i just thought about that and went and checked and the filter only had like a drop of oil on the inside that could see and i think that was from when i lubed it befor puting it on lol....im thinking if it wasnt an oiling prob i am clueless as to what it might have been that caused it to lock up on me...but with a big wrench on it i cant get it to budge at all

Ouch, plan on all 4 bearings and e-shaft, maybe even rotors if it got too hot. Also oil pum[, chain and take the fmoc down and have it cleaned sonicly.
