time for bearings?

I started to put new strut cartridges in today, but when I took off the dust cap on top I found that the bearing in the top plate had a little grease and a little rust on the ball bearings. Anyone had this happen? Also I could not locate the triangle marking on the top that you are supposed to mark the location of.

Check that the bearing will turn freely and dont be afraid to add some grease to lube it up. The bearing can be replaced if you have a press. The triangle is very small and is located on the ridge or lip outside of where that dust cap is.
