Is this a TII trans?
Looking at this box on ebay but the guy doesn't specify whether it's a TII or n/a. Can anyone tell? Or is it something different altogether. Thanks.

Definatly a ribcase, not an N/A trans from 79-92......but it doesnt look right to be a TII trans.....the intermediate housing is wrong and the shift tower looks wrong.
Without a better pic,I would tend to agree with bwaits, looks like an oldschool 4 or 5 speed ribby. Not a bad box,but they are getting old and there were lots of different versions of them, so ratios and parts can be a pain.

bwaits is correct. I have one of those in my MG and another one sitting next to it.
All ratios were the same for 4 speeds in the US. The '71-'73 and '74-'75 4 speeds had the same ratios. Even the '76-'77 5 speeds had the same 1-4 and R ratios. Only the '78 RX-3 SP and the '78 RX-4 had different ratios; they were closer and 5th was taller. Much taller than '76-'77, whose 5th is very close to 4th making it laughable indeed.
For some pictures of the 4 speed trannies I used in my MG, see here. https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showthread.php?t=515846

An old schooler could use it. I know I certainly had a wonderful day when I found a replacement 4 speed for the MG project. All I have to do is finish the install and redo the exhaust. Then it's test fire time. If all works out I'll sell the uneeded 4 speed. (peejay wants the bellhousing lol)
