can someone tell me what the little bar running from the front of the throttle down near the exhaust manifold does?

I bent it a bit pulling the throttle and intake apart. Now it doesn't move freely like it used to.

.......I'm going to try to attach a pic.....not sure if this is going to work.

 

Its the actuating rod for you OMP.
