Smile Thinking of buying an FB, need some general info

Hi, first off I wanna say, 'Hiyas,' to all you guys in the 1st gen forum. I've been the proud owner of an FC T2 for about a month and a half now, and owning, driving and working on this car has been one of the most enjoyable things in my life. I've always been a fan of RX-7s and owning one and learning first hand about rotary engines have made me love them even more, much to the disappointment of my 'daily driver,' a '90 Probe GL. I never drive the Probe anymore, except for the most simple of errands and I'm wary of putting too many miles on my T2 (I've already put 2500+ miles on it since I got it a month and a half ago). So I've been thinking about getting rid of the Probe and buying an FB as a daily driver instead.

I don't know too much about FBs as far as their certain quirks and stuff about years and model trims and what not. Are FBs pretty reliable in terms of daily driving? I know as a non-turbo car they are already much more reliable than my T2, but I've heard that the 12A engines are pretty tough anyway. The idea behind all this is that with an RX-7 as a daily driver, I would actually drive my daily driver daily. Too many times of driving my Probe and thinking, 'Boy, I really wish I were driving the 7 right now,' have left that car neglected. Besides, having an FB and an FC would have me 2/3rds of the way to owning an RX-7 of every generation.

Sorry about the long post.

EDIT: Oh, and how much do FBs usually go for, price-wise?

well, I bought my 85 GS for 1200 (I paid too much). Im my opinion, first gens are very reliable if you treat them well. There's 160k miles on my stock and original 12a, and it still pulls strong. As far as models (I know I'm gonna get this wrong)... the gs is the base model I believe, open diff, carbed 12a(101 hp). the only big diference in the gsl is the limited slip diff, might be a few other small things. 84-85 had the gsl-se model, better suspension, FI 13b, 135hp, limited slip, rear discs. I suggest getting a 1st gen, thyre still a hell of a lot of fun to drive, and have lots of potential.

GSL also has rear disk... and the S is the base model by the way, i'd go with a gsl or an se...SEs are pretty heavy weighing 2500lbs. but like said above a 13b and FI... i think it more than makes up for the weight difference.
