Things Can Change!!!

I am the proud owner of a 1985 GSL-SE. The car is honestly near mint with 140k on the odometer. Not a spot of rust, flawless interior, and a near perfect paint. I found the car about 1 year after my previous SE was totalled in my garage by a drunk idiot.

I have been a very DIE HARD rotary fan for about 7 years, owning 3 FBs, and 2 FCs. And like most rotorheads I have the great plan to turn my suly SE into a 400hp widebody turbo monster.

However, I am beginning to spark interest in another vehicle....actually 2 vehicles that I am currently considering a purchase. The lure of a WRX STi and Evolution IIV surely has come over some of us at one point or another, and I am beginning to fall for them.

I leave March 29 for the Air Force. I am single and plan to be for quite some time and would probably have no problem paying for my toy of choice. The cars themselves yield amazing results under many tests since their releases. I have longed for a NEW car for years but could never find anything to match the prowess of my lovely 7's.....until now.

Much of this is still hypothetical, and I am not set in any path for my future hobby. But I wanted to ask everyone if they have considered such a leap. They are not exactly cheap, so you can exclude your financial situation and let me hear your choice from an : EVO IIV, WRX Sti, RX7 of your liking with equal money in upgrades.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

I personally think, regardless of the 4 wheels drive that the other two have, a single turbo 7 can outrun them with 1/3 the horsepower they have. Trust me. The videos proove it. A 400hp 7 can beat a 500hp Evo or Sti in a street or highway race. You do the picking. Not to mention the godly sexy looks of the 3rd gen 7. I know what I'D get...

Yeah, maybe you should consider a 400 hp 3rd gen! You should do whatever you want. All answers on this forum are biased. There is something to be said for a car that will 0-60 in 4.5 seconds and is new and still under warranty. I currently drive a 2004 Impreza to get me through the winter months, and whil it is no where near the caliber of an STI or Evo, it is still quicker than my seven. That being said, I still can't wait for it to be warm again so I can get my 7 out again. You should do what ever you want to now, but know that sometime you will miss the 7 should you choose to go a different route. Good Luck with your decision.
Oh and by the way, its evo VII not IIV(that would be like an evo 3 written wrong!).
C'ya,
John
