180*, I run the same one summer and winter.

 

Well the reason I was asking is because the coolant starts flowing before its warmed up. It was good for summer because it gets a 100degrees here sometimes. If not that it was always 90 degrees.

There is no need to switch T-stats in our cars from Winter to Summer.
Where does the gauge read when you see coolant flowing in the radiator?

 

Never mind I just cranked up my car and the coolant was flowing , the T-stat is stuck open.




I have another question, is this amount of smoke normal with the choke out and first startup and warming up?

How cold was it?

I've got an '82 that makes smoke like that when it's pretty cold, like below 50F. It smells like gas, which makes sense with the choke out and it goes away after about a minute, so I'm not really worried.

 

It was in the middle 70's today. Chilly but not cold. Yes the smoke goes away after a few minutes.

 

Looks like normal smoke for a choke start.
