I've been racing AutoX in my FC in Street Prepared for a year. My main competition has been a father-son team with a '85 GSL-SE with the 6-port 13B. Both cars are running full exhaust, cone filters and street tires. They have a fairly stripped interior and are (IIRC) under 2400lbs with some pretty light 16" wheels. My car is 2700lbs with stock TII wheels. I usually beat them, and I'm pretty sure it's due to better suspension. They have a really hard time keeping the rear-end planted, especially when applying power coming out of corners. I know I have more power than they do, and I can use more of it without breaking loose... (much)

I'll be willing to sacrafice 200lbs and buy a fc over an fb and in exchange get power steering and 4 wheel independent suspension. 1st gens are a bitch to turn at low speeds.

you could just get an FB with power steering, and look much cooler. After all, we all know that the FB looks more distinctive.

I really like the lines on the FB. Kind of reminds me of a 240Z on a diet.
Power steering is nice in autox, even with the weight penalty. Still, if I was a bit less lazy I'd ditch it and just build up my arms a bit for racing...
