so...over the weekend it seems some **** egged my car while driving by my house........ this happened saturday night and i didnt find out untill monday morning at 6:55 while backing out my driveway to go to school.... i rushed home after school and took it to go get washed using one of those high pressure hoses at the drive in type car wash...and this is was it turned out to look like....

thing is i know who did it and found out who was driving the car at the time and who hung out the window and threw the egg...problem is its a friend of mine that was driving but he said he didnt know the kid was going to throw an egg out the window while driving by since my car was parked within throwing distance of the road....i dont want to get him in trouble but i want to make this ******* who threw it pay... and not by getting back at him...

if you rember back during summer i painted my 7 myself and it turned out great.. so this car after 2 years of owning it is my PRIDE AND JOY...i even lost a gf over it because i worried more about it and spent more on it and talked more about it....(she was jealuse...hahaha)

the first pic was my car before this all happened then #2 and 3 was what i awoke to this morning and then the rest are the remains even after washing it..... the white mark that looks like a glare in one of the pics is acully the paint that is cracked along with all the spots im pointing too which are missing clear coat that peeled and was eatin off...........

 

go to the local P.D. and tell them what happenned. They probably can't do much because it's a misdemeanor not committed in their presence...unless you can substantiate that the damage is more than $500 (california law, check your local codes) then it becomes a felony and well, they will be happy to go after them. Also you can always sue the fool who egged your car, and then when he denies it, your buddy who is his accomplise (person who acted with suspect, but turns and testifies against them in court) testifies that he in fact did egg the house. You could probably stick it to him for damages at least. Hope this helps.

 

but how do put a price on it.?? unless i go get an est..?? but even then would i still get the money from him but then be able to do it myself since i still have alittle extra paint left over..but the main thing is getting the open time to use the booth i was thankfully given the time to use.....i doubt i can do that.......

 

My friend... As a fellow painter, RX7ner. I understand your pain and frustration. HOWEVER You have to learn when you stand up for yourself and when to take back what is rightfully yours. If your "friend" that was driving the car isn't going to say its wrong and stand up for you...he isn't a friend to begin with. I would go to your local court house and file a small claims case. It is going to take and extended period of time. (1-6 weeks) to get a court date. In the mean time the bastard that egged your car will be served with the court papers. Once you know your court date. I would suggest sending a certified letter to him (the egger) and his parents. Stating. For a sum of X amount you will drop the charges and all past and future litigation. You have to be reasonable in what your suing for otherwise your not going to win. I would imagine that you have somewhere between $200-$500 dollars in damage. With the understanding that your going to have to paint it yourself. I am a law student. I will help you as much as I can. PM me if you have any questions.

one word. Thake the **** holes to small claims court open and shut case. get it fixed. its your clear coat...

 

i say hit them with a lead pipe. preferably when they arent looking. im so sorry about your car.

 

its not that big of a missing clear coat spot...but its more the fact of why he would do it

i mean i could get one of those clear coat touch up pens from autozone and probly fix it to a point that it at least looks unnoticable

...would it do me any good to go threw the cop at my school and talk to him about this since i dont know personaly the kid that threw the egg, but he goes to my school and thats the only way i can talk to him and confront him about getting his info is on school grounds

my friend the one i know invovled that told me about all this said he would just pay for what ever needs to be paid for since he was driving but even if he was driving..the kid that last touched the egg when it was thrown in my eyes is responsible and should pay me for the damage.....either way i can get paid off without going to court.. but i know my friend said not to get the thrower invovled with all this sueing stuff but that he would just pay me off for the damage..
