test fit my CP Racing strut tri-bar today
I currently have the car on jack stands and won't be bolting this thing in untill it's on the road and settled in. Looks pretty good IMO.

ive been wanting one. i was looking at the one that just has the bar that goes across, opposed to that one. looks like that one would provide more stiffening. what are yalls thoughts?

Do you have to drill into it? Or are there holes there already?

i dont know, just something about drilling into my firewall. if i ever want to remove it, i will have 2 open holes right there. or if im off 1/8" ill have to oval it out.. blah blah blah.. its not that big of a deal to me to drill into my firewall. ill just stick to the other one when i get around to wanting one.

I have my silver CP Racing 2-point bar in my car right now but I have to take pics. I had to remove my coolant catch can to make it fit. It looks nice though.

I don't think it looks ghetto at all. In black it even looks like it's a stock component IMO. And yes, this thing is seriously rugged. It just screams "functional" and looks right at home in this engine bay. IMHO of course.

Couldnt you just buy some of those plastic snap in tube end cover things at the hardware store and cover the ends if you didnt like it so much?

PS - Does anyone have pictures of the silver one? I think thats something you should look into doing on your site Manntis. Since you sell stuff in different colors, you should show the product in each color .

if my suppliers had me put up pics of every product in every possible colour combo, my site would be friggin' huge!
BTW I've recently added a few more items including a great book on the 3rd gen and the history of Mazda rotary sportscars

Says who?
Both the Regional Executive of one district and the guy who runs nationals in the other district I run has never heard of such a thing. Why on earth would it throw you out and to where?

SCCA Rulebook says so...
Dan is RRRRIIIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTTT.
Because the SCCA SoloII Rulebook say so...
14.2.C (Bodywork)
Strut bars are permitted with all types of suspension. Strut bars may be mounted only transversely across the car from upper right to upper left suspension mounting point and from lower right to lower left suspension mounting point. No other configuration is permitted. Additional holes may be drilled for mounting bolts. Only bolt-on attachment is permitted.
This applies to Street Prepared.
Stock does not allow strut braces.
Prepared, Street Mod, and D Mod allow any braces.

Let's see here... is the firewall a suspension mounting point? NO. To mount that brace, do you have to do any drilling? YES. Does it say anything in the rules about mounting to the firewall? NO. Remember, if it doesn't state that you CAN do something in the rules, it means that you CAN'T...

I bought the silver one and I will try and take pics of it tomorrow. Just don't laugh if my fan and shroud is kind of hanging there. I'll send the pics to Manntis so you can all see it on his site and decide whether you want to buy the 2 point in silver or not. I think it looks great.
