Sorry, a roll bar will make the frame flexture even more concetrated in the lower frame between the A and B pillars. You will need, serious reinforcemnt of the lower unibody, and/or a full cage.

Keep the top stock. Why bother wasting money to make it a true targa? If you really want to do it, then go for it. Ultimately it is all your choice, as it is your car. If you want opinions, mine is leave it as is...

Also the wind is unbearable. This is why it was such a flop in the
80's when they were modified in Australa. Notice there are none
in the US. Hmmm...............

i would also advise leaving it alone. the removable roof is great if you have one and i would think the wind noise would be awful as stated above. put the money into maintaining the car and making it perform a little better. just my opinion. i am old fashioned. i dont like body kits or graphics or funky spoilers. our cars are beautiful looking bone looking and unique(even though we all despise it, lol)

i was stating above(i must have fudged up typing) that our cars are beautiful looking stock, even down to the mechanicals, including the rats nest which most of us hate, but is neat in looks and functionality. how many other car have a watts link suspension?

There was one, a local RX-7 guy named Dave around me had one during his High School days. He still has the VIN number and I want him to check it out sometime.

I would assume it was a Pacific Avatar doing. Since another local friend of mine had a Pacific Avatar T-Tops FC.

Strange how they made their way to Cleveland.

I'm not sure what type of strengthening was done, but Dave always told me about the way he used to jump railroad tracks with his targa top 7 when he was in high school. Granted he was a moron since it ran out of oil, engine broke and he sold it for 500 only to see it on the road the next week.

A guy in the 2nd gen section has a targa top. He likes it except for the fact that it was not done proprly when he bought it. And it was supposedly done by a shop that new what they were doing.
