Exclamation Tag question

Ok i got the car, its in my driveway, Im gonna start ripping it apart tomorrow, but one thing popped in my head, RED TAG. I need to know if there is a special tag I can get for restoring a car so I dont have to get insurance and tags, since it wont be on the road for a few months. If the city sees it without tags, Im gonna get red tagged and that would suck. Im in florida so they have nothing better to do than hassle us about stupid **** like that. Does anyone know about this? Thanks

Just register it. You wont need insurance as long as it is not on a public road. I am not sure how much it costs for registration in FL, but IA my 83 only costs me 27 bucks. If anything, the court house would be the best place to call. They know all about this stuff better than most people here would (most likely).

I live in Pinellas county Fl. and just got my tag renewal. It requires proof if insurance. If you have a fenced yard put it there or back it up as close as possible to the house. No front plate required so the code enforcement people would actually have to look behind the car to see if it's tagged. By the way, 26 dollars and change for the new tags.
