tachometers.

Hrm. so, I was assured a tach in 4-cyl mode of opperation would work with my car, and, it makes sense that it would... well. I didn't even get a reading at all, sat at zero. wtf? :p

Is there something fancy I have to do when hooking up the tach lead? Should I just run it from the lead going to the tach on the dash instead?

Connect it directly to the negative side of your trailing coil.

PS. I've heard you should connect it the trailing but don't know for sure that you have to, it would work on leading too, i suppose.

Try searching for specifics since there's probably about 100 posts about this (esp. in the 2nd gen forum).

I was under the impression you hooked it up to the same wire as the stock tach (single wire coming off the trailing coil).

EDIT: Okay, just thought about it. You do have to hook it up to something on the leading coil to use it in 4-cyl mode. If you have a wiring diagram, use that to figure out the best wire. Oh, and there's not that many posts on the subject. I did a search and only turned up a few. My bad.
