tach went flat

tach went flat

driving down 405 and my tach just went flat. any ideas annyone

tach is fed off trailing ignitor. check your wires, should be a green one. make sure you're trailing is still working. mazda set it up this way as the trailing going out is not completely obvious.

checked wires off trailing....ok. have power to trailing ignitor, coil is firing.

Either there's a busted wire/connector going to the tach, or the tach is hosed. Check all wires going to the tach (sorry can't tell you which are which) sometimes they wiggle loose or the connector just goes bad.

BTW what year is your 7?
