Tach conversion from rotary to piston.

I bought a converted GSL-SE a couple of years ago and decided to put it on the road last week. The Tach reads twice what the actual RPM is. Does anyone here know what they do to fix this without going to a digital Conversion box for $100.

Thanks,
Jim in PA

a tach designed for a 4 cylinder should read correctly ... one for a v8 will under read by 50%

souns like you have one set for a 2 clinder

Hi, no. Im talking the original. I would likre to keep it and the shop that does the V8 kits say the RPM will be twice that of the rotary. I have never hooked up the tach and it was not working when I bought it. He did hook up a wire to the tach's org. input and I bet he tried this on the coil and it did not work.. The place that offers the kit also does the re-cal as well but I would like to do it myself...
Thanks for the replies...
