Question Tach cable?

MY tach doesnt work so like wtf? do i just need a new tach cable(havent check if it is even broke or if there is 1) or a speed sensor or something?

check the wire in the trailing's (-) terminal, then the trailing ignitor.

Yeah, what he said. On the side of the distributor there are two small boxes with wires plugged into them. These are your ignitors. The tach gets its signal from one of these and is all electric with no cable. If your trailing ignitor is bad, or not working, the tach wont work also. Im sure if you searched for trailing ignitor you would find MORE than you want to read. Worse comes to worse, find a used ignitor at a junk yard and pop it in. They're interchangeable.

Oh yeah, and FYI, if the trailing ignitor isnt working, your trailing (top) spark plugs wont fire either.
