Tach

I've done a search on the tach inop, and I know what causes it, but which component is more likely to go bad, the coil or the ignitor? The car has been garaged for 23 years if that makes a difference.

I'm leaning more to a trailing ignitor, but someone correct me if I'm wrong.

BTW, this only happens during a cold start and only for about 30 seconds or so. Then the tach works, and the seatbelt lights and brake lights come on, and then go off like normal.

Thanks,

Bryan

Ignitor is more likely to fail than the coil.

Thanks Carl.
