Thumbs up switching everything from 83 to my 85

i just bought an 85 thats going to get my ported 12a and susp.my biggest problem is going to be the rear end.my 83 has dics brakes,85 has drums.the 83 originally had drums and they were never like my 82 that the disc rear end came from.do i need a different booster up front?also i wasn't able to get the emergency brake cables to work.it has 3 or 4 pieces.do i have to buy all of them to make it work(dealer said so)emergency brake on the drum rear end work fine.

Im confused, your 83, got a 82 disc brake LSD right? So you wanna put the 82 LSD into the 85 ?

Its a direct swap, change the pinion flange from the 85 to the 82 and the driveshaft will bolt in fine...

Anything else Im missing?

driveshaft wouldn't be a problem.having a good working emergency brake is what i want.i had 4 rx7s they never had emergency brakes. the 85 is going to be the nicest one yet i need to hook up the cables but it seem impossible. also is the 85 brake booster compatible with a disc brake rear end????????master cylinder????????proportioning valve????????every time i swap i couldn't do the emergency brakes no shop would do it.i didnt want to spend $120.00 on brake cables at the dealer.
thanks

you need the master cyl and the valve from the rear disc car. I would try to swap the complete system to the car that way all will match. The bore size of the master cyl is made to go with the correct slave cyl size. they engineered it so you do not need to .Make a change and you will spoil the balence of the system.

thanx duboisr ,
that means i can leave the boost alone right.
i'm trying to spend as little $$ as possible.i spent way to much on my first rx7.after i did carb mods and header i blew the motor on the way home from the shop.it had a 1/4" groove all around both housing.you could've put 2 3mm seals in the apex of the rotor and it was still loose .all new parts to fix. with added hp the susp wore out quick.preparing to fix susp. frame was bent.throw that body away.swap motor, trans, rear, put in new susp.& brakes.had to pay a shop to do it 'cause i lived in an apartment.2 years later i'm finally able to finish my car and the body work is gone because i never painted.now the 7 i got has a/c,real nice stock interior 2 year old paint job, nice whls.shot out susp, slow motor, drum brakes.out of theese 2 cars i'll have the one i've always wanted.

800.00 1 rx
2500.00 strip port rebuild
300.00 2nd rx body
800.00 swap labor
1000.00 susp
1000.00 carb/intake
1500.00 3rd rx
????.?? what ever it cost from here to finish

the never ending story
