I wanted to post to this thread so I'd be suscribed to it to make sure I could find it when I am ready to install the LSD in my 85 GS project car. But I have a couple of questions too.

I can't see how it would matter which side the axles are installed in after replacing the outer bearings...does it matter?

Is it easier to install the sway bar before mounting the rear end, or is it easier to install the rear end and then install the sway bar?

What type of sealant should be used when reinstalling the center section (the "pumpkin")?

Thanks,
Rich

The axles are interchangable, side to side.

It's easier (and better) to just scrap the rear sway bar. Even with a large aftermarket front sway bar and heim-jointed lower links, I still prefered the handling without the rear sway bar.

Any quality RTV is plenty good (most spec over 500º F), but I usually use Permatex High-Temp Red RTV out of habit.

Thanks for the good infor Blake. But just for kicks, let's assume that I'm going to install the rear sway bar. Is it easier to install the sway bar before mounting the rear end, or is it easier to install the rear end and then install the sway bar?
