Swap-Over

I just got myself a new Grandpa shell
Mint condition with the TINIEST of rust spots, ORIGINAL paint!
I am about to swap my engine into her and wondered if anyone who has done this has any suggestions for things I should do while I have the body stripped.
So far I am wiring the stereo and alarm up nice and neat, but other than that it's just a swap...anybody who has been there and done it and then regretted not doing something please let me know.

Also I need a new interior and I'm not a huge fan of the Original SII interior, any suggestions what I can do? Already seen the center console from a newer model which I plan on doing....I know this stuff is all through the posts and I have spent some time searching, but I thought anyone with wisdom could help me put it all in one package, I plan on taking pics of it's various stages and sharing em with you all.

Thanks in advance.

Clean everything you can't with the drivetrain installed. Maybe repaint things as well that can't be easily done with the drivetrain installed. I'm sure your transmission case and mount could use a good scrubing. Possibly get that leaky oil pan done up and add an oil pan baffle at the same time. Get some stuff powdercoated and get some stuff plated or anodized depending on the metal type. Just kidding on the last few things!

What color interior you looking for? Something to consider before you have drivetrain and whatnot up under there is as skidtron said clean it but also undercoat it. Standard undercoating would be good, or i spose something like por15. Will help prolong life of the car

When I have an engine out, I remove everything that's bolted/screwed down in the engie bay and refurbish it, including the bay itself. Depending on how far you care to go and your budget allows, strip the suspension off, refurb all of those parts, strip the bottom of the car and take care of even the tiniest rust spots.

Sound extreme, maybe, but that's what I went through when I built the widebody. In preperation for the bodykit and painting, the car was stripped down to a shell with only the dash and wiring left. Everything, and I do mean everything else was removed.

In the following link are a few pics of just a small part of the work that went into mine. https://www.rx7club.com/build-threads-293/unvieling-12a-bp-widebody-462184/
