heater switch and resistor S/A

My heater switch only works on position #3 on the 1980 that my son and I are working on. The FSM says to trouble shoot the switch and/or the resistor. The switch is no problem to troubleshoot, but does any-one know what the resistor looks like and where it is located? That part isn't very clear.

Thanks!

on my '79 I had to remove the blower from under the glove box with a few screws and the resistor is up inside there at the top . I bought a new one but havent replaced it yet . I just temporarily wrapped the resistor wie back on itself for some quick heat

You can get those nichrome resistors at the Junkyard or the Pick 'n Pull.

it was the "spring" coiled wire part of the resistor that was broken in the middle of the coiled wire . I just tangled the ends together and that worked for now . Obvioulsy not a great fix , but worked for quick heat.
