Ok, i want to upgrade my 1984 gsl's suspension and lower it at the same time. What i am wondering is what is the best/cheapest/easiest way to go to accomplish this?

 

eibach springs, cut your bumpstop in half and cut 1/2 a coil off each spring, and get tokiko illuminas, look to spend close to 650 bucks
but this is top of the line **** we are talking about

 

Eibachs and illumina's are good, but that's not top of the line ****. It's about perfect stiffness for a street only car. But if you are in autocross or do any road racing you'll want to take a look at www.ground-control.com Call them and tell them what you'll be using your car for, and they should reccomend a spring rate and shock that will work great.

 

what price range are we talking there coldy? Im hoping to keep it at or under $400 altogether.

 

Then no ground control A good street setup for around $400 would be Eibach or RacingBeat springs, and tockico blue/hp struts. The difference between the 2 spings are the eibach's are stiffer in front, and softer in the rear than the RB's.

EDIT : Where is the cheapest place to find eibach springs? Is there a certain type i will need. (never done suspension on ANY car)

There should not be any problems with camber on this setup. I have the Eibach's with Tokico blues, and it is a reasonable good street / autocross setup. I also have Suspension Techniques F&R sway bars (rear adjustable), and hard bushings in the front control arms and tension rods. It is still quite acceptable for everyday street driving.
