One of the major causes for surging on the SE is a misadjusted TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). The TPS can be adjusted by making a simple two light tester. There is a description on how to do this in the first gen FAQ. Also, sticking throttle plates can also cause this condition. If this is the case, it can be remedied by cleaning and lubing the throttle plates and surrounding mechanisms.

There is a lot of information on this site that covers some of the tendencies that SEs have (surging is a common one) and can be found with the use of the search button. One site that also has a lot of useful information on SE idling conditions is:

Let us know how it goes. Welcome to the forum.
