well I finally did the deed..... at least I will not worry about fuel slosh any more. I was able to find the surge tank on ebay but it was in aus. This surge tank was pretty nice for the money expecialy sence it already had barbed fittings on it..... didn't have to buy braided line. Here are some pics of the surge tank and engine bay....

 

Wow i love your fb... So you installed the surge tank where your bins were? Interesting just make sure no one smokes in the car or any fuel leaks. I love your rims and paint by the way but ive mentioned this to you before...

Off topic do you have more before and after pictures of your paint? Any tips for getting the best bang for my buck with doing my own paint prepping? (sorry to get off topic)

the best bang for your buck would be sading it down and take it to a friend of a friend.......If you dont have a friend of a friend .. find one.

Great setup, it just needs to be in a safer place..
Seriously, we just want to make sure you live to enjoy the car without worries.
(Or pump noise)

 

I used a surgetank under the car. WAAAYYY safer. Even if you don't have leaks now, in case a serious accident you'll be BBQ'ed sooner then you think. There's a special design for first gens that goes right before the rear axle, very easy, safe and clean.

 

I would rather have it where I can kepp tabs on it ........ besides it going to get a box..
and pump noise what pump noise....

 

This set-up will not be accepted for any form of racing. So if you plan to hit the strip or AutoX then you had best re-think it. I would mount it in the engine bay so the hi-pressure pump has the least distance to push the fuel which has the benefit of marginally increasing flow.

Not only will you not be allowed on the race track, I'm suprised you're allowed on the road. It's definately illegal in this country to have any source of fuel within a passenger compartment, have you checked to see if you can do that there?

 

its been done before...... half of the setups I have seen have been mounted in the trunk.

as for the sylvia: I guess that's a trunk, and therefor not a part of interior? I mean, wouldn't there be a firewall?
the FD... yeah, you seem to be right about that one.
the FB: I wouldn't like that in my car! A leak in that case would be really bad: he has all the interior parts still in there, and those will soak fual and burn like a torch in no time!
Like I said before: it's a potential danger, and I wouldn't want it.

 

At the very least get rid of those damn wire nuts you used to connect wires. It's not a house you wired.

The FB is AJC13B's OLD setup, and he too moved out of the passenger compartment, and near the rear end.

 

what wire nuts...? I used butt conectors.

 

The yellow connector could be mistaken for a marette, but that's not the point. You are definitely taking your life into your hands with that setup.

 

I'm not completely sure on NHRA rules, but I'm pretty sure the DOT says you may not put fuel line in the area passengers sit. The rule is the same for SCCA, you may not run any rubber lines through the car without a metal containment barrier (I don't remember the exact wording of the rules, but you get the idea). Cool setup, but your location is downright unsafe without sealing off your bin area.

 

 

That one looks... ahh, different? Kinda strange, that polished stuuf on the pink/purple...
But it's obviously a metal lines only. Unlikely to burst, even after a crash.
