You ALWAYS port before you use forced induction. To make power the engine must breath. Port the motor and a make sure you have a good intake/carb set up, exhaust system etc. Then worry about a blower. BTW: A turbo set up on a N/A 12a is $.

porting doesn't take tooo long, after some practice. I'd say 3 days total of work, thats a really conservative guess. Best thing to do on the intake is get a carbide burr. be careful you don't let it grab and just onto surface where rotor rides. I did that.....yea you have to get the end plate resurfaced. ehaust porting is cake, not too much to worry about. As for rebuilding as long as you already replaced side seals and all that rotor seals, you can slap one together in a good day. Those pankcakes we call housings stack real nice =)

In a word: Street porting involves an engin rebuild (housings are ported). You don't want to try this at home. Everything else is gravy: carb, intake, headers, blah, blah.

go with a street port so you can still drive it and borderline emissions, pick up a barebones nx kit and rig it up with a summit rpm activated switch, and a jacobs ignition to retain the same gas mileage from before. that should be a decent setup

Upgrade the real way? I think we all do power modifcations to help in speed.

I'm sure that the nitrous application I built for my friend upset a 1993 Touring with mods at the track.

He has a Z24 Cavy, 97, intake, exhaust, short shifter, clutch, street tires, cams, headwork, and a 125 shot of nitrous . I think all that matters is who gets there first cowboy.
