A Super Charged 12A anyone? (pictures)

I would just like to post up some pictures of a instalation that was done to my 7. A Super Charger was installed to my stock 12A. All work and credit is to Rotary Shack who I would like to add did a fine job. (is my nose brown) He wired it all up, tapped my oil and installed my ford torus fan. B E A UTIFLUL!

Its a 7 inch super charger made by camden with a eddlebrock (aka webber) 4 barrel carb.

So what do you think?

(ALL CREDIT TO ROTARY SHACK)

not sure on the exact horses. If i had to guess 160 RWHP. Thats a lot for a light car but there is always room for more. It cost a pretty penny. total for the instal and equip close to 4K. if you ask me forced induction will eat away any engine, let it be rotors or cylinders. once you start modifieing your car, anything can go wrong.

when you say stock engine...do you mean its 20 years old with 167, 000km's on it...or do you mean its been re-built but hasn't been ported or anything...because theres no way I'd put a supercharger on the old engine I have without a re-build!!

4k for 35 more hp, not worth the money! 4k will get you a turbo 2 and be pushing well over 200hp.

It's alot more than 35 more... it's a 12A not 13B.... and some people would rather keep a 12A than swap.

He said a 160 to the wheels, Where did you get your 35hp number from?

He hasn't dyno'd it, 160 was just a guess

He's gotta be putting down more than that. And if he rebuilds the engine he'll be even higher. I'm a fan of superchargers and though they can sometimes be more expensive than turbos, I still think they're really cool

Get that thing dyno'd and tell us what it *really* does

Jon

that charger has to be putting more than 160 to the wheel what psi are you running ? i have one that actually i sold but waiting on the rest of the payment but if you see in the instructions if you run 12 psi you achieve 215-225 on a good street port to the wheels. that on a 12a is pretty decent.

Do they sell everything you'd need in kit form for self install? How much were the parts alone not including the labor? I'm not gonna do this mod any time soon...if at all, just curious.

Thanks guys. It is a stock engine and I mean as it has not been rebuilt so it has 130 thousand on her. But i got the compression check and the compression was like she was new.

I got the kit used off this forum actualy with everything except a minor few things that rotary shack helped out on and I got the electric fan from a junk yard. I got it all for around $1700. The kit of their website is well over 3k. i think thats a bit much but you do get everything you need.

I do plan on dynoing it to see what she realy has but I want to get better exhaust first. I am pushing 10 lbs. BUt I was told i should be only pushing 6lbs with this setup so I am looking into it. nothing strange yet.

I have taken her around town and came across a T-II. I dont know if it means anything but I destroyed it with my super charged 12A by a couple car lenths at a 40 roll.

And i would not put a 13B in my car, I love the 12A. Soon she will be ported but till then I will have some fun with my baby.

You'll probably make 140WHP. My buddy ran 10PSI (Older Camden and -10 pulley) on a Big street port and make 160 on a 12A with a 7 inch.

You want some advice:

Get that air filter off. Its worthless and restricts flow SOOOOOOOO Much. Get a 2 Inch tall by 14 inch K&N with an off-set base. Thats what we all run up here. Might scrape the hood under engine tourque.

2) Get a high flow exhaust, no more than 2 - 1/2 inch. When dyno'd with a straight through HKS exhaust, although it was INSANELY LOUD, the powerband was Straight. As in, it kept climbing after 8000 RPM at the same rate it started at 3000RPM.

a bigger exhaust and a free flowing intake along with a msd 6a box and some methanol injection and this car should run alot better... driveability is good tho
