sunroof panel

i am restoring a 85 gs and i have found that the sunroof **** wont lock the sunroof down. is there a locking mechanism i should look into or just need a new opener?

The opener is a hard plastic inside and can break. You can take it apart to verify. I've fixed them before with JBWeld but it's a pain and can break again.
