You can increase the rpm at which the buzzer triggers.
Based on the fact that he has 13 posts and he has a link to another forum in his sig that refers to cars as "whips", i think it's safe to say that he's putting it in for aesthetics rather than usefulness.

yes the tack is for aesthetics and i did not put it in but it gives it a nice look and i dont understand why u guys are being so critical and thank you for telling me which to splice
We (well, I specifically) are critical because the youth of today (I can't believe I actually said that, only being 23) have a completely different, messed up view of "modifying" a car. Your goal should not be wasting money (openshot... kudos on the custom work, but :barf
and time, rather, it should be in making your vehicle faster, handle better, and be a more useful vehicle. Who cares how loud your stereo is or how many redundant gauges you have in your vehicle. Watch this to see the irony in your goals...

You will find that this forum is performance oriented. We don't do things (for the most part) that are either indifferent or detrimental to performance.

hey now, cut him a break lol. so he doesn't think like most of us, we NEED more power. he instead needs girls to look at his ride lol. anyways, i can't remember the color wire that you have to splice to get to your tach. but it should be in the wiring manual. it should be in this page: http://foxed.ca/foxed/index.php?page=rx7manual

My response to how he's looking for girls vs. performance by saying he should have chosen a different car is a very valid response. What do you think will get you more tail with people of (what i'm assuming) is his age bracket: 16-20 years old, a Mustang or a RX-7? Your first response may be TEH 7 CAN'T LOOSE, but think about what girls in that age bracket look at. They want a pretty car that comes in pretty colors, not some old rotary powered car that smells like 2 stroke and shoots flames. Undoubtedly the 7 gives a better driving experience when comparing vehicles of the same age, but girls will go for the Mustang because it's a Mustang, and it's pretty.
Additional gauges are for engine and performance monitoring. Just because someone else installed the tach isn't a valid excuse for having it or even for installing one. I replaced all of the gauges in the widebody, except the tach and speedo for greater accuracy and visibility. Last thing I need or want is a bunch of useless bling, and fwiw, tachs don't impress most of the the fairer sex. They could care less. If you want to impress someone, impress yourself and install a shift light, much more useful and you can concentrate on keeping your eyes on the road instead of watching a needle bounce around between the numbers.

lol, i gave him **** and gave him his answer in my first response. I told him where his tach signal came from, and he could figure out things from there. The response that immediately followed mine was someone who didn't bother to look at his post count or the website in his sig, and then your goofy response about the buzzer. I responded to those very nicely and stated an observation about how his choice of installing a 4" Sunpro tach was for aesthetics rather than a real reason, based on post count and his sig link. I was not trying to bash him, just give him a friendly, newbie ribbing. It's better than going off on a tirade about how he's a complete idiot and how it's a waste of time, money, effort, blah, blah, blah, calling him names and belittling him for his personal choice. I could have just said "IBTL: SEARCH NOOB" and been done with it.

or keep the stock tach and just let it hit the buzzer that already does that for you lol
well first off im not trying to make anyone mad and if some of my comments have offended anyone im deeply sorry and secondly i didn't by the car my brother bought the car then hated it and i couldnt let it go so i got him to give me it. i don't really care about having tong of girls around me. and im 16 i want to make this car a powerhouse but im on a super low budget so i cant do much for alot of power for a little. im saving up to either do a motor swap to a 13b or turboing the car but both take alot of money and right now im broke. thanks for the people sticking up for me and thanks for answering my questions

Back to the power issue: They don't weigh much, so any extra power will feel like alot. Even if you have the tach, I wouldn't install it. Sell it and put that money toward useful mods. You run the risk of screwing up your trailing ignitor, and J109's (ignitors) are expensive. Why don't you look in the FAQ's and stickies at the top for ideas on how to make the car alot of fun. If you want a quick rundown of parts to consider, look at:
Racing Beat's exhaust sytems. Heavy, expensive, but they last forever.
The new Rotary Shack SS header. True equal length, a good collector, light weight (compared to stock manifold and the RB header (which weighs 35-45 pounds)), and it's SS which repels heat. The only downside is that you have to have your full exhaust fabricated from there.
FC leading coil mod. 2GDILFDS (?? Something like that). Starts easier, burns better, idles smoother.
Rats next removal
Suspension (ReSpeed if you wanna auto-x, RB if you want a good, cheap stock upgrade)
Sterling Nikki (STERLING on the forum, legendary...)
since you're "broke" doing a rats nest removal (if you don't need emissions in your state) is basically cheap. a few bucks for vacuum plugs. also mechanical secondaries would be a cool upgrade that way you save gas on your daily commute to school. Ignition upgrade. i have a 2nd gen coil upgrade easy to do (2gdfis) and very beneficial and you can find a used one for about 15 bucks. these are all cheap mods just takes some time and some wrenching but very worth it in the end, all can be found by using the search function.

FYI the stock tach is nowhere near accurate!!! From the factory it is designed to read higher than actual revs to help prevent over reving of the engine. at 7000 rpms the tach usually reads 7200. But from my own experiances All my FB's have been off by about 500 rpm by 7000 rpm. The current stock tach in my car is at 8000 RPM when the engine is actually only at 7200 rpm... There are 230,000 miles on my car and after all that time the gears wear out and wires get old ruining the signal. Just an FYI. The second gauge that needs to be replaced is the tach IMO. First being ofcourse the crappy oil pressure gauge.
