Suggestions onPerformance Tires on Stock wheels?

I'm coming from a Honda Si, so there are all kinds of tire options for a 15 inch wheel but I'm kind of lost for our little wheels.

Anyone have any suggestions for a street/Autocross tire that will fit on our stock wheels?

Unfortunately there are not many choices in tires for our 13 inch rims. Do a search on www.tirerack.com for size 205/60/13. I have the Sumitomo HTR-200's and really like 'em. They're cheap and stick quite well. Good luck!

EDIT: Hmm, looks like they don't have the 205/60/13's anymore. I wonder how the 215/50HR13's would work?

I have the Sumitmos and I agree with Inittab, they're great for the price. You can't really get better for the stock rims unless you go to R compound race tires or slicks. I've done a couple of AutoX runs this year, and the tires seem to be wearing ok considering my somewhat 'loose' driving style. They stick great for a street tire, IMHO.

You can still get the Sumitomos in the 205/60/13 at www.tiretrends.ca . They can get them and ship to you in about a week and a half. (At least that's how long it took to get mine.) I paid 92 CDN per tire, plus GST (7%) and 9 dollars shipping. Shipping to the states would be a bit more, because they're based in BC, but it's still a good deal. The 205/60/13 fit great on the stock rims and don't bluge too much. the 50 series would be too much for the stock rims to handle methinks.

edit: They've added the Sumitomos to their online catalogue at this address: http://www.tiretrends.com/catalog2.php3?tireID=390

Good luck. You'll like the tires.

add another notch for the htr 200's. i love them, and im HARD on my tires. they got a little feathering on the side walls where the tread is from hard cornering, but i was running them almost everyday on tight/fast roads. they stick pretty good, im definately getting them until they dont make them anymore, i dont want to bother paying extra to try something new that might not be as good.
