Hi everyone, any input on this would be appreciated. Tonight I’m going to look at a 1985 RX-7. The guy told me on the phone it has a 13B. I’m more interested in the motor, so that we can drop it in a 1982 Rx -7 (to replace the 12A). What symptoms would you look for to see if the motor is good. I know it suppose to smoke a bit for a couple of minutes after it’s started . But anything else you could suggest. Note: I have no compression gage.

What is the price range (Canada) approx for an 1985 RX-7.

regards

If it is a stock 13b, then its fuel injected. the only way it will work in your vehicle is by running an aftermarket carb system. The model if stock should be a gslse. If this is true, it
would be better to sell yours and keep that one. As far as running, your looking for idle quality, starting ability and power. Without some sort of compression test, your taking a crap
shoot. rx7doctor
