sudden loss of power

When I was driving my '85 GSL home today, I noticed that it was significantly low on power, especially above about 4000 RPMs. I though it might be a slipping clutch, but when I stop and rev in neutral, it does the same thing. I've made NO changes or modification to my car since it started doing this this afternoon. The only thing I can think of is a dying fuel pump that isn't delivering as much fuel as it used to.

Any ideas??

Sounds like a pump or filter.

I agree with Hades, I just went through this, it was the fuel pump. When I checked it, it looked good, but when I replaced it, it fixed the problem.

Where do I buy a new fuel pump? I checked at Checkers and Advance Auto Parts and both of their "OEM replacements" were over $100. I thought the stock 12a pump could be had for like $40.

Did you have any problems mounting it or wiring it with the $32 universal pump?
