Stupid power antenna died

I always thought these things were kind of cheesy anyways, but mine died today. Now to listen to the radio I have to put it up and down by hand.

Is there an easy way to install a non-power antenna? The power one on my car is beginning to pit and get slightly rusty, so I figure to swap it for a non-power one would be the thing to do.

You remove the power one and get a universal either rubber flexable or metal retractable and install it. The hardest part is getting the power one out. I usually take out the passenger side tail light assembly when removing the power one.

couldn't you just disconnect the power going to the wire?

The diagram should be in the online manuals.
