i left the house 30 min ago to get something to eat just slipped on some flip flop sandals. at an intersection stop light the light turns green and i notice my flip flop giving me difficluties on the clutch pedal as i reach down to unwedge it from clutch i accidentaly tapped the gas and barked the tires a little bit nothing crazy. a chirp. low and behold a cop at intersection sees this chirp and then i bog out and lights turn on 250$$$ ticket i almost went to the station for refusing to sign, at that it was on video i am not payin 250 not noting for an accident. has anyone here ever gotten a ticket so fukin stupid as this BTW i live in Oak Harbor WA an island that is notorious for ******* cops. just thought i needed to vent off.

 

Man that sucks. I can tell youre a little bit pissed. I would be too. So did he write you up for wreckless driving or what?

 

My first ticket was wreckless..

I was in my dad's 1976 Volvo 245DL stationwagon...
Tranny was shot, No OD and no reverse...

(On older Volvos, Overdrive is a 2nd gearbox on the back of a standard 4 speed. It's engaged by oil pressure pump on the driveshaft and a switch on the shift lever... There's a 1 way clutch in there that was fucked up...)

Anyhow, it also had no fuel gauge... Dead sender... Being that the Odometer was up about 300 miles since I last filled it, I figured it was just about time for me to get some gas..

I was in an intersection, about to make a left turn into a gas station when it died on me... Here I am in a 20 foot long tank holding up traffic... People are pissed. I freak out...

Crank crank crank.... Crank crank crank... nothing...

Hold the key and pedal on till it catches.. Crank crank crank crank crank crank crank Vroom!!! REV!!! and I dumped clutch at about 3500 and peeled a good bit.

******* 18 yr old with a 4 month old license in a rusted out POS and I get a reckless driving ticket.

The officer was even a bitch to my lawyer.. He got me reduced to Improper driving though...

ANd yes, the officer was Female.

not all cops are dicks. i know, i am one. most guys are fair, but every once in a while you get a really hard core guy that loves to harass young kids.

 

yea.. i always get annoyed when i see a cop just sitting on the edge of the road waiting for some one to be 6mph over the speed limit.. im like wtf dont you have some thing better to do?

I have had more good experience with cops than bad, and I feel I got screwed only once, I was comng home from working the graveyard shift in a merc villiager, I was driving on the side of a semi that blocked my periph. vision, anyhoo, I was driving by the local HS and saw the flashing yellow " schools in session" sign. I was at 30 mph and the regular posted for that road is 35. "must be the first day" I thought and backed down to 20 but that did not stop me from being pulled over. I tried explaning what hapened, but she was dead set on writing me that ticket. How the **** was I suposed to know that school was in, Nothing was mentioned on the radio, and I dont take the local paper. So I figured that I would ecplane in court what happened. No can do. School zones are guilty . do not pass go... do not collect 200 dollars.

In truth its not the cops its the ******* county fathers that pissed me off on that one.

 

I have a good cop story. I was driving on NC24 on the way to I40 going to the airport in raleigh to pick up a friend. I was running late so I was doing about 70-80 in a 55 but I had a radar detector so I figured it was safe. All of a sudden I see a car come right up on my *** so I speed up to get in front of the cars that I'm passing up so I can get over to let him pass me. The next thing I know he's hot his federali lights on and I'm pulled over. Cop comes up and asks me if I knew how long he was tailing me and I told him I guess when he pulled up right on me is when I noticed anyone behind me. He told me that he had been tailing me for about 8 miles, and caught me doing 23 over the speed limit. He asked me why I was going so fast so I explained to him that I was in hurry to get to the airport to pick up my friend and his wife and I was running late. He took my license and registration and went back to his car which felt like forever and a day. When he came back he handed me my stuff and told me to just keep it under 70 and off I went. I thought I was gonna get slammed because I was driving my friend's 92 civic hatchback but I guess he knew I wasn't lying when he ran the plates and saw that it wasn't my car and the fact that my record was clean. Only cops I ever have problem with are the MP's on base.

 

Man you guys really have it rough. But ya I know what you mean some things it would just seem like there was not even any point in pulling you over. I mean come on it takes more time to write it up in court. And even more time if you want to appeal the ticket on their part. Either they like writing tickets or they have a broom shoved up their ***. Cops around here are pretty cool I'd have to admit. Their pretty layed back and give tonnes of warnings. Fight the ticket is all I can say.

 

Having been a cop for some thirteen years, It has been my opinion that we give leniency for politeness and cooperation,If you run over the limits and over run your mouth..... the tickets just keep on coming. We dont hate kids, we want to keep them alive so that they can become cops and get their reward. NUFF SAID

 

I don't know.....curupted cops live where I live. Half of them street race and get DUIs. They don't care how I drive though as well so thats ok. I can drift around corners and swing the back end and do donuts and they don't care. Most ef em know me from when I drive my Honda. But thats not a good thing......hehehe. OH well. I truely think that maybe "backintheday" they might have been nice, but now they're just ****** if you pull them over. Power Hungry and not afraid to use it. They think we're scared or something. I don't feel like becoming a cop personally, but I know a lot of bad people that do, which is frightening. Ever heard that flashing your lights to warn traffic about cops is illegal? YEA NEITHER DID THE JUDGE! Drive like it like you stole it.

i didnt think so many 7 owners are cops or were cops i apalogize if i have offended you. but the island i am on is notorious for unnecessary tickets it must be to pay for county things or something but my wife and i alone have gotten pulled over 8 times 3 of those times have been tickets this last one and 2 for 5 and 10 miles over speed limit but where we got tickets there wasnt a sign within a mile or 2 but the catch to that one is that we found out the hard way the posted speed limit is 25 unless otherwise posted fuked up huh so if you dont se a sign for a bit go 20 to be safe i learned how to drive in miami so adjusting to this west coast laid back on an island is really difficult cuz i love driven like the 7 likes to be driven looks like i need to join up the SCCA. again most times i have gotten pulled over the officers have been nice and let it go but dont you hate the ones that dont and it is usually for silly stuff like a chirping tire.

Bull **** cops Give you lenacy for cooperation. I was driving on friday night just gone, minding my own little bissiness. Was doing anything wrong, Busy part of town. hot chick in the car with me. Bloddy pig pulled me over did a breath test, nothing. Then proceeded to write me out a defect notice for a bald tyre (its still legal) a broken tailight, cant argue that 1. And a leaky exhaust!!!! Bull **** and half the last 1, its a 13b with a 2.5 inch system and a 3inch dump and it gurgles. its meant to sound like that!!!! its not leaky!!!! I was nice as to this copper and he was still a total *****!!!! So theres now a Yellow ******* sticker sitting out like dogs ***** on my window and iv got 2 weeks to get it off before its deregesterd. Plus i hate those things cos they stain the window withsticky crap they leave behind. !st 1 iv had but mates have still got the **** left there after years of scrubbing. Not Happy Jan.

 

no longer in FL i am in WA now but i lived in miami lakes hialeah area for about 5 years then boynton beach area for about 5 years now i am in the navy and in Whidbey island WA really boring and the top speed is 40 everywhere maybe 50 but only for a few miles then back 2 30 then 40 then 25 then 50 it fukin sux cuz the post up at all the speed zone areas.

unless they are tinted (you probably would have gottin a ticket) spray some carb cleaner on a rag then wipe it off, comes off fairly easy. or some rubbing alcohol, laquer thinner, acetone, mek, paint thinner, goof off, xylene, synthetic reducer, brake cleaner, you get my point.

 

What you do is take your header off and put a thin layer of oil in it just a tad, and go drive by the cop and let all that oil burn off beside him. Yup. MMMHHMMM. **** em off. I got props for cool easy going cops, but ****** **** me off.

 

a cop in my home town tried giving me a ticket for noise violation not i wont lie my car had had a system 145db plus so it was pretty loud but one night on my way through town i see the lights come on and i figured he was head for an accendent so i pulled over he fallows im like wtf he does the " do u know " bs and i had no clue and thats what i said so he goes into a speech about noise pollution, so i let him talk then tell him that it couldn't be me, and hes says i know it was you i herd your car befor but it was during the day and again i said i couldn't be me still he persists that i had my stereo cracked and he could hear me for 3 blocks. i told him again that it wasn't me and that i'd gladly show him so he goes along and i turn up my radio and nothin well he says you could have switched it off when i pulled ya over i say to him that i don't even have a system anymore i sold it still he says it was me he herd so i open my trunk and there just wires hanging there. then he tries getting me for my neons which are one a switch that automaticly turns them off when i put the car in gear then he tries getting me for eleagal hight and my car is stock higth and a whole buch of **** he final gave up after over an hour of hurasment

although i did get to run over a state trooper while going through a sobriety check point he walk right into my huge wing mirrors on my truck nocked him cold his bodies just laughed and drughim out of the road and told me to get my noisy smoken p.o.s. out of there sight


bad valve guide seals smoke like hell when it idles not to metion it only has about 3 feet of exhust from motor to end of muffler so all the smoke comes up right next to the cab where they stand to question u
