Stuck Side Seals

If a rotor has one or more side seals stuck in the grooves, does that mean that there is a mechanical problem with the rotor, or that they simply are jammed from carbon and other buildup? I just want to make sure before I buy some rotors for my rebuild. TIA.

Well if your plans are using S5 rotars, does it really matter, and why dont you open the engine up to see for sure?

Run it down to 1/8 of a tank of gas, then dump in a full can of SeaFoam. Do not add more gas at this point, just drive the hell out of it. May result in huge hp gains (mine did) as the seals all loosen back up again. After driving mine hard for about five miles, I felt a huge surge in power which is still with me now. Good luck....

Oh the rotors are out of the motor, I am buying some used ones off someone on the forum. He said there are some side seals stuck in them. I just wanted to know if this meant something was wrong with the rotor or if they just need to be pulled out and the grooves cleaned.
