Certainly it'll run it. You won't see much in the way of power gains from the port unless you upgrade, though.

do you need to do anything to the carb apart from tuning the mixture?

If your thinking about running a nikki on a street port, I'd highly suggest a "Sterling Nikki". Either way you should do some research here. http://www.sterlingmetalworks.com/ I doubt you can find anyplace with more info on a Nikki and how to mod it for performance.

His website is amazing. I spent almost an entire day reading through it all. Good reading! Hell, after you read it ALL, you will want nothing else under your hood.

Sterling is def the best way to go. I plan on picking one up this month after I get my tax refund from the man. I ported my 12a with a RB SP template on my secondaries and just cleaned up the casting on my primaries. I stripped down my Nikki with Glazedham's instructions and set up mechanical secondaries and I love how it runs. I've had a Holley and a OER but with the Nikki I get good response and decent MPG's. Just remember before you go upgrading your carb you need to upgrade your exhaust. I got all my info from Sterlings site down from rebuild info and jet sizes. Buy a spare carb and build it up, before you know it you'll be looking a reason to rebuild your carb! LOL! Goodluck

I've been racing with a Sterling carb for a few years now. Nothing else I'd rather use.

Naw. We all hang out here to share personal experiences and knowledge. If I find something that works, I let people know about it.

If anything, I should get a sponsorship from Seafoam. lol.
