Strange Header issue

So, I have a header that the flange at the end was cut off of. I bolted it on and mesured the distance of pipe that I will need to weld on. It is nowhere close! It needs to drop down and at a strange angle to match up. Am I missing something? Or, did they change the header layout a good bit for the different year models.

is the mounting flange to the engine still in tact? sounds like someone just cut that other flange off to clamp straight pipes to.

They cut the flange off so they could weld up a custom exaust. I have the flange, but it won't weld right onto the header to fit. There is a good 5-7" gap. I will see if I can make something out of cardboard that will match up to show everyone.

Post some pics. If I understand you correctly, it's the downstream end of the header you are having trouble with. If the 2 parts you are trying to mate up are at the same level, you may need to incorporate a slight bend in your filler/cat replacement pipe.
