Storing to Rebuid
I am parking my car for awhile(2 to 3 Years) while I work on it. What should be done to make sure it is a easy or easier rebuild for the motor when it comes time. The motor is not locked up still moves freely, still was running(sorta) when I decided to park it. I has a full tank of gas but no gas stabilizer. I plan on removing and changing much myself but leaving the actual rebuild of the motor to proffesionals. What should I do to make sure when it comes time to it back on the road it will go smoothy.
Thanks

Your gas will turn to sludge, so you might want to drain it. Certainly wouldn't want to run the gunk into a newly rebuilt motor. And unless the tank is absolutley full to the brim, any air space in the tank will encourage moisture to form: translation - rust. I'd get rid of all the fuel ASAP. Might even disconnect your fuel lines at the pump and let them drain too. As for the motor, I pour a 1/4 cup of motor oil into each chamber via the carb, hand crank the motor (or use the starter to spin it a few revolutions...enough to get the oil thru all three chambers per rotor. Finally I seal off the carb opening by laying a piece of plastic across it and clamping the air cleaner back on top. Likewise I seal the exhaust pipes each with plastic bags and a zip tie. This prevents moisture from entering the engine from either end. helps the exhaust too. If you can crank the engine over (again just a couple of revolutions) to keep things moving in there, every few months, that really helps too.
