stock radiator?

how many rows is the stock radiator? i got my radiators.com radiator, and its at least twice as thick as my stock one... it also has fittings on the bottom, look like they might be for a transmission cooler ala automatic transmission radiator... dunno...

edit: or could i have gotten the larger radiator because i told them my car was an SE? either way it fits, just wondering lol

The fittings are for a tranny cooler, don't have to worry about plugging them. Yes you probably got a 3 row rad which is what I have a they cool great. You should have no problems.

The tall type replacement radiators, which it sounds like you have since your car is an '84, come with a 2 row core. The short style come with a 3 row core.

NASTY!

Your old one wasn't stock.

Had that on the '85 base we bought. It had a 1 row rad too... probaly eplained a lot of the overheating problems, lol...

that one is from a 84 GSL, the other one i bought from another forum member was also from an 84 GSL... i'm almost 100% certain the radiator from my 84 was the origional one, not been replaced...

I'm pretty sure stock tall rads were single row.

Really?
I could swear (at least I thought I could) that they were two row...
And I thought the shorter rads were 3...

All stock short manual tranny radiators were 2 row. I think short automatic tranny radiators may have been 3 row, but I'm not sure. Luckily aftermarket short rads are all 3 row and include the tranny fluid fittings.
