yea i got 2 weeks to get it running before the next autocross. I already missed the first 2.. Jamie on the stock air filter housing all the holes in the bottom do i do anything? Also the butterfly in the air filter housing can be removed right?

You shouldn't need any holes anywhere in the air cleaner. You can also remove the flapper in the snout. I have patched several of these air cleaners in the past, and really found it easier to just buy the new air cleaner from Racing Beat. It fits the Nikki perfectly, has no holes in it, looks better, probably flows more, looks nicer, and is only $70. But if you are tight on cash, just plug up the holes in the air cleaner any way you can.

Yea that was the plan to buy the racing beat air filter housing. Jamie can you take A pic of your crb intsalled on you car? I have a few questions about the nikki. In you tread the butterfly I am pointing at in the 4th pic in post #26 can be removed right?

Yeah, I can take pictures for you tonight when I get home. I ended up leaving that butterfly in, as it is for the choke. You can remove it if you want to. Even if you do remove that butterfly, most people still recommend leaving the fast idle linkage connected. Doing this should help with cold starts even if you don't have the choke butterfly anymore. If you take it out you would probably have to plug the holes where the shaft goes.

Man I miss read some of it I removed the shaft and fast idle linkage I guess I ll have to go through the parts and fing everything to hook the fas idle back up. I ll try to get better pics so maybe you can help me with what else I need to do before I try and intall it.

You really will want to run vac advance. It makes a noticable difference in drivability and power response. Use the nipple farthest forward on the base of the carb. You'll get better economy with it as well...

well I didnt get it on the car but got to co drive a 79 with a modded nikki. After the autocross I came home hooked up the mech secondarys I JB welded the altitude and the secondary ports

started first time. The idle was high so gonna have to adjust that. Also after I took it for a spin it wouldnt start back up. any input?
