Exclamation stock carb tune settings

i know my carb is WHACK i have the crappest gas milage ever..... i will go to my friends house go to eat then take him home and the take myself home and i will be at 1/2 tank and when i left it is full.......??? everytime i let off the gas it backfires little tiny poofs but nothing big so i think my air/fuel ratios are way off... how many turns out do i do from then screwed all the way in?? and how do u do it??

The same is happening to me lately and even when I am driving in the highway and let go the gas it dose that too. Not sure why is doing that but I been noticing that lately. Anyone have any ideas?

i jsut read the carb facts on mazspeed.com and they said if u have a rythmic misfire it could be a missing apex....when is almost what i have everytime u left off the gas it pops 2 or 3 times in a row as the rpm's drop

as it is, my car also only idles at about 400...I wanna try and play with my idle, but never touched a carb except for the one on my HPI Savage R/C

yea the only one i have ever touched it on my goped which is the same engine as a weed eater

You guys are experiencing problems beyond the tuning of the screws. Rember, those screws are for tuning the idle, that's all.

so I can't raise my idling rpm's with the turn of a screw?

Of course you can. You have an idle adjustment screw to change at what rpm it idles and a mixture adjustment screw to change the air/fuel ratio at idle. What Sterling is so encryptically saying is that the mixture screw adjusts the idle circuit mixture only, i.e. below 2k rpms. To change air/fuel ratio at higher rpms you'd have to change fuel jets.

Get ahold of the manual for tuning procedure, or do a search. If then you have any questions, feel free to post them away.

you could hook up the secondaries ) then you'll really have problems with gas mileage
