The rubber o-ring is old and hard or there is corrosion. Hit the bottom of the dizzy bracket with a plastic hammer or rubber mallet.

Also how much slop is supposed to be in the rotor when you turn it a few mm worth. reason being i could get my dizzy out to lock it. so i took it apart in car makeing markings everywhere to put it back. pulled springss re assembled and now it wont start. tries but wont puff puf out the carb aswell. so i am trying to start over finding tdc and all that jazz except i cant find my marking on the pully. Think i have found it but i still need to get this dizzy out to weld the c weight's
