Unhappy Still OverHeating

well, i get up again this morning, to find most of my radiator fluid on the ground. I open'd up the cap, and it was dry. i took a closer look at it, and there was a tiny tiny metalic type bar inside of the radiator. and another one that looked like a drop ? im quite positive that that is not a good thing ? but i filled the radiator up to the top, no leaks, no water was comming out of it. i started it up, nothing. so i drove it around for about an hour, and then checked it, nothing. everything seemed normal, water level was still at the top, and there were no bubbles inside the radiator.
i drive it for about another hour, and check it again, and the cap to the radiator relief was off, and bubbleing like crazy. so it over heated again, i think i might just wanna wait till i get a new thermostat to drive it again ?

Please give me ya'lls opinions.- Thanks

Maybe your burning coolant in the chamber and its going out your exhaust. Get any white smoke?

What fan are you useing? E- fan or stock. Mabey a fan clutch issue. Or partially clogged radiator.

If you suspect the thermostat you can take it out. Your car will take longer to heat up and there is a reason that engines are allowed to run at a certain temperature instead of 'as cold as you can get it'.

Since you are replacing it, I recently learned of a thermostat that fails open instead of failing closed. For an extra few bucks that sounds like a good engine saving feature.

Can you describe these metal bits more?

Check your radiator hoses and clamps. Check your belts too, a slipping belt would bugger up the operation of your water pump.

well, yesterday i was driving it, and it stalled on me...(im learning...) so i go to start it back up, and no power to the engine at all...or the whole car. it comes to find out that my main engine wire is UNDER the fan belt, how it got there, i dont know, but it just ripped it in half, and blew all of my "fuse wires" near the battery. i jumped the "fuse wires" with some speaker wire (hey it works) and spliced together the main wire, and that got the car to act like it wanted to start. well, the thing would not start, not even get a rolling start. (we tryed that ike 15 times) so i just push it home, and today after woek, i go look at it, and these two cords on the disributor are not connected, (two big plugs) i plug them into where they are supposed to be, and the thing fires right up....just needs gas.

as for them metalic peices, one of them looks like a barbell type thing, and the other looks like a drop of sauder...?

thanks for the quck replys guys!
